Figgins signs minor league deal with Marlins

Marlins signed INF/OF Chone Figgins to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Figgins was horrendous in his three years with the Mariners (.227/.302/.283 over 308 games), but he's at least landed in a good spot with the Marlins. The 35-year-old has mainly played left field, second base and third base in recent seasons, and Miami is currently slated to go with Juan Pierre, Donovan Solano and a broken down Placido Polanco at those positions. The potential for playing time is there, and he should at least offer a bit of speed if he finds himself in the lineup often.
