Pirates sign Jonathan Sanchez to minors deal

Pirates signed LHP Jonathan Sanchez to a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training.
Sanchez is coming off a brutal season in which he posted a 8.07 ERA and 45/53 K/BB ratio over 64 2/3 innings between the Royals and Rockies, but the Pirates will take him on as a reclamation project. The 30-year-old left-hander is unlikely to begin the season in Pittsburgh's rotation.
