Withrow now officially a relief pitcher
Chris Withrow - S - Los Angeles Dodgers
Feb. 5, 2013 - 3:40 PM ET

Dodgers prospect right-hander Chris Withrow has permanently switched from being a starting pitcher to a reliever.

Withrow, who turns 24 in April, was a first-round pick of the Dodgers back in 2007. After struggling through a case of the yips and chronic back problems, he posted a 3.28 ERA and 25 strikeouts over 24 2/3 innings in Double-A last season as a reliever. His control remains an issue, but the Dodgers are hopeful that the hard-throwing right-hander has found a home in the bullpen.
