Lions CB Lionel Smith recently underwent shoulder surgery, but he's expected to be ready for OTAs.
Smith, an undrafted free agent out of Texas A&M, spent the season on the practice squad before signing a future contract in January. Although he was a backup in college, Smith was a workout warrior at his Pro Day, running a 4.41 40 to pair with a 38-inch vertical. Detroit's secondary is awfully thin at the moment, so he could have a chance to stick.
