Angels to sign Hiroyuki Kobayashi

The Los Angeles Times' Mike DiGiovanna reports that the Angels are nearing a minor league deal with Japanese reliever Hiroyuki Kobayashi.
The deal presumably would include an invitation to spring training. Kobayashi, 34, posted a 3.00 ERA and 45/19 K/BB ratio over 39 innings in 2011 for the Hanshin Tigers of Japan's Central League but did not appear in a game last year.
