D'Backs reach four-year, $40M deal with Prado
Martin Prado - 3B - Arizona Diamondbacks
Jan. 31, 2013 - 1:20 PM ET

Diamondbacks signed 3B Martin Prado to a four-year, $40 million contract extension.

The four-year deal covers Prado's final season of arbitration eligibility and his first three seasons of free agency. Prado was dealt from the Braves to the Snakes last week in the seven-player Justin Upton trade. He batted .301/.359/.438 with 10 home runs, 70 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 156 games last summer for Atlanta, and should get a slight boost in fantasy value in Arizona.
