Rams DE Sims triggers 2013 salary increase

Rams DE Eugene Sims' 2013 base salary increased from $575,000 to $1,201,021 after he hit escalators in his rookie deal.
Sims started two games in 2012, and he's appeared in 38 of a possible 48 games over his first three seasons. In 2012, Sims set career-highs with 20 tackles, three sacks, and one interception. If impending free agent DE William Hayes isn't re-signed, Sims could see more snaps in 2013.
