Cardinals CB William Gay triggered an escalator in his contract, raising his 2013 salary from $1.475 million to $3.225 million.
Gay started 15 games in his first season with the Cardinals after coming over from the Steelers and signing a two-year pact. Gay recorded 57 tackles, six passes defensed, and two interceptions, but graded out as one of the worst corners in the league, according to Pro Football Focus. The Cardinals need to upgrade the corner position opposite Patrick Peterson.
