Saints sign GM Loomis to new five-year deal

Saints signed GM Mickey Loomis to a five-year contract extension.
Along with coach Sean Payton, Loomis is now signed through the 2017 season. The Saints' GM since 2002, Loomis hired Payton in 2006. He'll be tasked with remaking the Saints' tattered defense this offseason. Both Loomis and Payton escaped the "Bountygate" scandal no worse for the wear, and quite a bit richer.
