ESPN Boston believes the Patriots are open to re-signing free agent Danny Woodhead.
Woodhead played 34.1 percent of the Pats' offensive snaps in 2012, serving as their primary "hurry up" back. However, 2011 second-round pick Shane Vereen began to siphon away snaps down the stretch, and was similarly effective. Woodhead is a team leader and favorite of coach Bill Belichick, but he'll only be back with the Pats at the right (cheap) price. It's more likely than not he moves on.
