ESPN's James Walker believes impending free agent LT Jake Long is "long gone in Miami unless he takes a home-team discount."
This has become the popular opinion. The Miami Herald reported earlier in the week that the Dolphins made a "low-ball attempt" to re-sign Long in-season, and they apparently don't want to pay him any more than $6-$7 million per year. Despite declining play as the result of various injuries, Long still thinks he should be compensated as one of the league's top tackles. He'll likely find it elsewhere on the open market.
