Report: Ryan Kalish likely needs surgery

Rob Bradford of WEEI.com confirms that Ryan Kalish will likely need surgery.
This confirms a report by Matthew Stucko of MiLB.com. The exact nature of the injury isn't yet clear, but Bradford hears that it isn't related to his previous neck issue. Kalish was expected to compete for a spot on the Opening Day roster during spring training, but surgery would rule out that possibly. Another tough break for the 24-year-old outfielder.
