Stevie Johnson will still be allowed freedom
Stevie Johnson - WR - Buffalo Bills
Jan. 25, 2013 - 11:20 AM ET

Stevie Johnson will still be allowed the freedom to run his routes in a "stop-and-start" manner under new coach Doug Marrone.

Ex-coach Chan Gailey tolerated the style as long as Johnson got to his designated spot in the proper time. "He's going to be able to have the freedom to play his game within the system," promised WRs coach Ike Hilliard. Johnson's game is built on route precision and quickness, and that's what allows him to get open so often. GM Buddy Nix reiterated the desire to get Johnson more looks in the slot, as well.
