Report: Eagles pursued Kevin Sumlin
Eagles Offense - TM - Philadelphia Eagles
Jan. 23, 2013 - 5:50 PM ET

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports the Eagles were "onto" Texas A&M's Kevin Sumlin in their coaching search after initially being turned down by Chip Kelly.

It's a non-story now, but confirmation Sumlin is viewed as a legitimate NFL coaching prospect, and will be pursued again in 2014 if the Aggies have another strong season in the SEC. A Bob Stoops disciple, Sumlin has been coaching in the college ranks since 1988, but has no NFL experience.
