According to Adam Rubin of ESPN New York, a "reliable major league source with knowledge of the Mets' plans" wouldn't rule out the possibility that the club could pursue free agent outfielder Michael Bourn.
This is quite a contrast to what we heard earlier this month, as Mets general manager Sandy Alderson has previously said that he doesn't want to give up the team's first-round pick to sign a free agent. While the Mets could use a quality outfielder and the market for Bourn hasn't developed as expected, it would be a surprise if the two sides became a match.
