Red Sox signed 1B/C Mike Napoli to a one-year, $5 million contract.
Nearly two months later, it's finally official. Napoli originally agreed to a three-year, $39 million contract with the Red Sox, but he had to settle for a reduced deal after a pre-signing physical reportedly revealed an issue with one of his hips. The 31-year-old will serve as Boston's primary first baseman in 2013 after batting .227/.343/.469 with 24 homers and an .812 in 108 games last season. He should continue to carry significant fantasy value due to his eligibility at catcher.
