Matt Ryan diagnosed with sprained AC joint
Matt Ryan - QB - Atlanta Falcons
Jan. 20, 2013 - 8:40 PM ET

Updating an earlier item, Matt Ryan has been diagnosed with a sprained AC joint in his left (non-throwing) shoulder, and will not require surgery.

It's a fairly common, minor ailment, and one Ryan likely would have tried to play through in a potential Super Bowl appearance. The injury wouldn't be a major long-term concern even if it was to Ryan's throwing shoulder, so the fact that it's to his non-throwing side should make it a non-issue for his offseason preparation.
