A-Rod had less damage to hip than expected
Alex Rodriguez - 3B - New York Yankees
Jan. 18, 2013 - 8:35 AM ET

Dr. Bryan Kelly told the Yankees that he discovered less cartilage damage in Alex Rodriguez's surgically-repaired left hip than expected.

"It was minimal," a source told the New York Daily News. "Now it's up to his rehab." While the good news isn't expected to affect A-Rod's projected six-month timetable, it does give him a better chance at avoiding complications during his rehab. Assuming all goes well, Rodriguez will be back around the All-Star break.
