Mark Teixeira says he's fully healthy for WBC
Mark Teixeira - 1B - New York Yankees

In an interview with MLB Network on Thursday, Mark Teixeira said he's hasn't had any setbacks with the calf injury that limited to a career-low 123 games last season.

"Last season, unfortunately, was one of those years where I had a lot of nagging injuries and I played through them and they got worse," he said. "When you're young, you can do that. I have to be careful now, be smarter." Teixeira will expose himself to re-injury by playing for Team USA in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, but has been given medical clearance by the Yankees and claims to be fully healthy. Andy Pettitte, who was expected to join Teixeira in the tournament, has been left off the provisional 27-man roster.
