GM Kevin Colbert said he will explore drafting a quarterback "above the late rounds" to serve as Ben Roethlisberger's backup.
When Roethlisberger went down this year, the Steelers were left with fossils Byron Leftwich and Charlie Batch. Both of them are free agents and not expected back. We wouldn't be surprised if Colbert uses a Day 2 pick on a developmental quarterback that can grow behind Big Ben, who is just 30 years old but has missed eight games over the last three seasons.
