Pedroia won't play in World Baseball Classic

Dustin Pedroia confirmed Tuesday that he will not play for Team USA in the World Baseball Classic.
Pedroia played in the WBC back in 2009, but he's sitting this one out following offseason surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right pinky finger. The Reds' Brandon Phillips gave an indication last week that he'll likely accept an invitation to play second base for Team USA, but we might not get official word until rosters are unveiled Thursday.
