No validity to Trestman, Bears speculation
Bears Offense - TM - Chicago Bears
Jan. 12, 2013 - 11:35 AM ET

The Chicago Sun-Times does not believe there is any validity to Jimmy Johnson's tweet suggesting the Bears are ready to hire the Montreal Alouettes' Marc Trestman as head coach.

This seems to be the consensus among beat writers following the team. A Bears spokesman declined comment to the Chicago Tribune, saying the team would maintain the policy it adopted when the coaching search process began. GM Phil Emery is still scheduled to interview Texans OC Rick Dennison, Seahawks OC Darrell Bevell, and Vikings assistants Mike Singletary and Mike Priefer. CBS Sports' Jason LaCanfora confirms Trestman has not heard from the Bears since his interview.
