Jake Locker goes under the knife Wednesday
Jake Locker - QB - Tennessee Titans
Jan. 9, 2013 - 1:55 PM ET

Jake Locker underwent left shoulder surgery Wednesday, and the Titans "hope" he'll be ready to return by May.

The operation was announced at the Titans' season-ending press conference. Locker is one player desperately in need of a full offseason, so it will be bad news if he isn't ready for June's minicamp. However, he should be 100 percent for training camp. Locker is surrounded by intriguing skill-position talent, but it's hard to envision him rising above middle-of-the-pack QB2 status in 2013.
