Mets and Carl Pavano have 'mutual interest'

According to Andy McCullough of the Newark Star-Ledger, the Mets and Carl Pavano have "mutual interest."
Pavano's agent clarified to McCullough that negotiations are still "very preliminary," but it sounds like there could be a marriage here. Pavano posted an ugly 6.00 ERA in 11 starts last season for the Twins while fighting right shoulder issues. So he should come rather cheap.
