Romine likely to begin season in minors
Austin Romine - C - New York Yankees

Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said Wednesday that he believes prospect catcher Austin Romine will likely begin the season in the minors.

This means the Yankees will likely go with Francisco Cervelli and Chris Stewart on the Opening Day roster, barring any late acquisitions. Romine, 22, was limited to just 31 minor league games last season due to a back injury and has limited experience above Double-A, so it's probably the right call for his development. Still, Cervelli and Stewart don't inspire much confidence.
