Profootballtalk reports that the Bears are "currently interviewing" Saints offensive coordinator Pete Carmichael Jr. for the team's head-coaching vacancy on Wednesday night.
Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times says the interview will occur on Thursday, but it's a new name to add to the hat. Carmichael Jr. has been with the Saints and Sean Payton since 2006, while he's held the OC job since 2009 when he replaced current Syracuse head coach Doug Marrone. Marrone is another hot name around the head-coaching market this week. The Saints finished No. 2 in total offense in 2012 and have finished No. 1 overall four times in the seven seasons Carmichael has been involved. Chicago is clearly seeking an offensive-minded coach to take over the team.
