Report: Skins thinking extension with Shanny
Redskins Offense - TM - Washington Redskins
Jan. 1, 2013 - 4:30 PM ET

Sources tell the Washington Post that the Redskins are "seriously considering" a contract extension with coach Mike Shanahan.

Shanahan's current five-year contract is up following the 2014 season. During his first two-plus seasons in Washington, he went 14-27 and appeared to be on thin ice. An extension at this point would be a reward for the current seven-game winning streak that netted the Redskins the NFC East crown and a home playoff game Sunday afternoon.
