A source tells NFL.com that Buddy Nix will remain the Bills' general manager for now.
Nix and Chan Gailey were joined at the hip when they arrived together in Buffalo three years ago. Since then, the Bills have gone 16-32 and Nix has signed Ryan Fitzpatrick to a $62 million contract. But somehow, Nix has survived even though the Bills canned the entire coaching staff Monday. Still, he's being eased out the door. Nix will now report to CEO Russ Brandon, who will oversee football operations. NFL.com also notes that assistant GM Doug Whaley is "very well thought of" and could be getting groomed to take over the job shortly. Nix's first priority this offseason will be finding an upgrade at the quarterback position.
