Harbaugh: 'We need Jenkins to step up'
A.J. Jenkins - WR - San Francisco 49ers
Dec. 31, 2012 - 6:15 PM ET

49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said the team needs first-round rookie WR A.J. Jenkins "to step up" in the playoffs.

"We need him to step up and we definitely think he's capable of doing that," was Harbaugh's exact quote. Jenkins was targeted one time in the Week 17 win over the Cardinals, but he dropped the pass. The rookie out of Illinois hasn't caught a single pass this season, so our interest in him is tepid at this point. Randy Moss has been starting opposite Michael Crabtree, while the team has been using a lot of two-tight end sets with Delanie Walker and Vernon Davis.
