Giants DC Perry Fewell's contract was quietly extended through 2013 after New York's February, 2012 Super Bowl win.

Coach Tom Coughlin also made it clear Monday that Fewell will be retained for the 2013 season despite major decline on the defensive side of the ball. The Giants finished 2012 ranked 31st in the NFL in total defense. They were sixth the previous year. Fewell was hired as Giants defensive coordinator in 2010.
