Lovie Smith not planning to take year off
Bears Defense - TM - Chicago Bears
Dec. 31, 2012 - 3:00 PM ET

Lovie Smith's rep tells the Chicago Tribune he plans to coach in 2013.

"He's ready to coach," Smith's agent said. "He's ready to be a head coach in the NFL somewhere in 2013." Unlike some past big-time coaches like Mike Shanahan and Jeff Fisher, neither Smith nor Andy Reid ' the two biggest names handed their walking papers on Black Monday ' plan to take a year off to recharge.
