Report: Nicks was recommended 6-8 wks rest
Hakeem Nicks - WR - New York Giants
Jan. 1, 2013 - 3:15 PM ET

The New York Daily News reports doctors told Hakeem Nicks he would need 6-8 weeks of rest to get back to 100 percent after his left knee swelled up in Week 4.

Nicks only ended up sitting out two games. It helps explain his underwhelming production down the stretch, and is an indication he'll likely require a clean-up operation. He's hoping to avoid surgery, however. Nicks could need the better part of the offseason to heal up his right foot and left knee, but should be 100 percent for training camp.
