Owner Jimmy Haslam stated Monday that the Browns intend to give their next head coach "final say" over player personnel decisions.
"We're going to begin very quickly to look for a new head coach first, then GM," Haslam said. It's a backwards approach in an NFL that typically encourages general manager hirings before the head coach. It's also an indication that the Browns will pursue big names such as Chip Kelly and Jon Gruden, who are both believed to want full roster control from their destinations.
