Contrary to a previous report, the Miami Herald insists the Dolphins "have no intention" of using the franchise tag on CB Sean Smith.
Smith has been a solid starter, coming in especially handy against physical receivers, but he's not deemed worthy of the $10-plus million tag reserved for elite corners. According to the Herald, the Dolphins would have to "think long and hard" before offering even half of that $10 million on an annual basis. Smith will likely opt to test free-agent waters.
