Diamondbacks general manager Kevin Towers said Saturday that, despite the signing of Cody Ross, neither Jason Kubel nor Justin Upton are guaranteed to be traded.
Towers elaborated, explaining he has ownership's backing to hang onto all four outfielders and enter the season with a payroll in the neighborhood of $95 million. The Snakes could choose to play Ross in center field, and let Adam Eaton start the season at Triple-A.
