Cody Ross visited with Rangers on Tuesday
Cody Ross - OF - Boston Red Sox
Dec. 19, 2012 - 12:10 PM ET

Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that Cody Ross visited with the Rangers on Tuesday.

This is the first known interest the Rangers have shown in Ross, though there had been speculation he could be a fit once Josh Hamilton signed with the Angels. Ross met with team officials, including manager Ron Washington and GM Jon Daniels, last night. Whether the Rangers were just doing their due diligence isn't yet known, as they also met with free agent catcher A.J. Pierzynski earlier on Tuesday. Ross, who turns 32 later this month, has been linked to the Phillies, Red Sox, Braves, Mariners, Mets and Orioles so far this offseason.
