According to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News, the Yankees hope to finalize a one-year deal with Ichiro Suzuki by the end of the week.
Giving out one-year deals to veterans has been the Yankees' modus operandi this offseason, as they've already locked up Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Hiroki Kuroda and Kevin Youkilis in such fashion. Ichiro made $17 million in 2012 but will obviously have to take a big paycut after batting .283/.307/.390. He would start at one of the corner outfield spots for the Yanks.
