Fred Jackson expects to miss rest of season
Fred Jackson - RB - Buffalo Bills
Dec. 10, 2012 - 1:35 PM ET

Although Fred Jackson will not need surgery to repair his MCL sprain, he acknowledged Monday that the Bills may place him on injured reserve anyway, with only three games left in the season.

"It's a grade II sprain of my MCL," Jackson said. "I mean technically it's a tear off the bone, because you tear the ligament away from the bone. So that's why some people say it's a tear, but the ligament itself is intact. It's just pulled away from the bone a little bit." Jackson doesn't expect to play again this year. "They told me I would be out 2-3 weeks, but I think they might just put me on injured reserve so they can get somebody to come in and play. Because I won't be able to play the rest of the regular season, it looks like."
