Lions WR Kris Durham played 78-of-84 snaps in Sunday night's loss to the Packers.
That's 61 more than supposed slot WR Mike Thomas, who wasn't targeted. It's an astonishing snap count for a player who was signed off the practice squad just six days ago, and speaks to the desperation the league's No. 1 passing team is feeling at wideout. Durham didn't play well in Green Bay, running the wrong route on Matthew Stafford's lone interception, and muffing a catchable ball in the fourth quarter. It will be bad news for Stafford and Calvin Johnson if Durham is forced to start again in Week 15, but he likely will be. Durham's "ascension" vividly illustrates how far Thomas has fallen.
