Karlsson no longer a European Tour member
June 4, 2013 - 2:40 PM ET

Robert Karlsson has resigned his membership on the European Tour.

No surprise, really. Since the conclusion of last year's FedEx St. Jude Classic, he's falled 130 spots to 180th in the Official World Golf Ranking. To sustain full schedules on both the European Tour and the PGA TOUR, especially since the Euro Tour now requires 13 starts to retain membership, it's a dual commitment best suited only for guys that play in all of the majors and World Golf Championships. "We'll see," Karlsson said of accepting membership on the European Tour again. "First we'll take care of this year and then we'll see. Obviously it would be ideal, if I'm playing good, get back up the World Rankings and I'm in it again. Obviously I'm going to try to play both Tours." He's in the graduate reshuffle on the PGA TOUR, which hasn't helped him lay out a schedule in the U.S.
