Eagles adjusting play-calling for QB Foles
Nick Foles - QB - Philadelphia Eagles
Dec. 7, 2012 - 1:40 PM ET

Eagles OC Marty Mornhinweg has "absolutely" adjusted his play-calling to protect rookie QB Nick Foles.

"The Eagles transitioned to an offense where they run the ball out of running formations," NFL Films analyst Greg Cosell explained. "It helped Foles because it dictates defensive fronts and coverages and they become a little more predictable." Cosell still wants to see an overly deliberate Foles speed up his drop and arm speed, but concedes there's been progress after an encouraging game last week. It's fair to wonder why Mornhinweg refused to go with a more balanced approach when Michael Vick and LeSean McCoy were in the lineup.
