ESPN's Buster Olney hears that the Indians' offer to Kevin Youkilis is for two years and $18 million.
The veteran corner infielder will make a choice between that offer and the Yankees' one-year, $12 million offer. It's an interesting decision, as the Yanks are obviously offering a higher average annual value and the chance to play for a definite contender, while the Indians can give him an extra year and the opportunity to play for former manager Terry Francona. Youkilis would also man third base before likely being moved to the DH spot in New York, while he would stick to one position (first base) in Cleveland. He seems likely to pick a new home before long.
