Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that the Angels are still in the thick of things for free-agent right-hander Zack Greinke.
This report comes as a bit of a surprise, as Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto said Thursday morning that he was "prepared to" move on after trading for Tommy Hanson and signing Joe Blanton. Either he's playing coy or Greinke's agents are trying to create a little leverage. The Dodgers and Rangers are widely perceived as the two primary suitors for the 28-year-old right-hander.
