FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Mariners have discussed three-year deals with Josh Hamilton in the range of $20-25 million per season.
Mariners president Chuck Armstrong said Thursday morning that the club hasn't exchanged numbers and figures with Hamilton, but that doesn't appear to be accurate. It's not a surprise that the Mariners are reluctant to give him a five- or six-year deal, but it's not clear whether three years will be enough to get it done. The Rangers are expected to get a chance to match any offer Hamilton gets, but it's unlikely there will be any resolution until Zack Greinke decides where to sign.
