ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reports that Ian Stewart has re-signed with the Cubs.
No word yet on the terms involved. Stewart was non-tendered by the Cubs last week, but both sides were unable to find better fits elsewhere. The 27-year-old batted just .201/.292/.335 in 55 games this past season prior to undergoing wrist surgery, but he was recently given a clean bill of health. The Cubs' top alternative at third base was Luis Valbuena, so it's worth giving him another shot at a possible rebound.
