Rays signed 1B James Loney to a one-year, $2 million contract.
The deal was agreed to on Monday then finalized Thursday after Loney passed his physical. The 28-year-old first baseman batted just .249/.293/.336 with six home runs and 41 RBI in 144 games this past season between Los Angeles and Boston. But perhaps another change of scenery will help the cause.
