The Mets have "contemplated the idea of" signing free agent Mark Reynolds to play an outfield position, according to Ken Davidoff of the New York Post.
It seems like a bad idea. Reynolds has logged only two career major-league innings in the outfield, and that was back in 2007 with the Diamondbacks. He's drawn enough interest since being non-tended by the Orioles that he met be out of the Mets' price range anyway.
