M. Putnam wins second Web.com title in 8 days
June 2, 2013 - 2:55 PM ET

Michael Putnam claimed his second Web.com Tour title in as many weeks when he signed for a 2-under-par 32-36=68 in the final round of the Mid-Atlantic Championship.

Putnam circled three birdies in his first six holes, then parred his way to the 13th hole, seemingly in control of the tournament. A bogey on the par-4 13th was followed with a birdie at the par-4 16th, then a final bogey at the 17th. He ends the tournament at 7-under 71-64-70-68=273, two strokes clear of Chesson Hadley. With this victory, he extends his stranglehold on the top spot on the money list and positions himself for a battlefield promotion should he pick up a third win.
