Chad Collins managed an even-par 35-35=70 in the third round of the Mid-Atlantic Championship and shares the lead with Michael Putnam at 5-under 205.
Collins circled two birdies, one on each nine, and saw each of them immediately erased by his only two bogeys. This is the first time we've seen him in contention on either the PGA TOUR or Web.com Tour since a rib fracture sidelined him mid-way through 2011. He tied for 14th at the HP Byron Nelson Championship in May of 2011 and withdrew after the first round of the FedEx St. Jude Championship in his very next start. A T22 at the Stadion Classic at UGA this season was his first top 25 since the 2011 HP Byron Nelson.
