Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that the Mets are interested in free agent outfielder Ryan Ludwick.
The Mets don't figure to be in the market for big names like Josh Hamilton and Michael Bourn, but they could consider second-tier names as they attempt to address their outfield. Ludwick batted .275/.346/.531 with 26 homers and an .877 OPS this past season and appears likely to land a multi-year deal. The Reds hope to retain him while the Mariners are among the other clubs who have reportedly expressed interest.
